A Bounty of Imported Products from New Zealand Arrives
at Central Food Retail
Bangkok, August 3, 2006 - A bountiful array of nutritious food and products from the rugged country and green pastures of New Zealand is now available during the ‘New Tastes, New Thinking, New Zealand’ food promotion at 16 Central Food Retail outlets, including Central Food Hall, Tops Market, Tops Super, marketplace by Tops and selected Tops Supermarket.

During the promotion of epicurean dailyghts from this week until 29 August, customers can experience new tastes and new ideas from New Zealand and can select from a dailycious choice of the freshest imported products, from gourmet meats, fresh produce, seafood to kiwi fruit from the fertile plains of New Zealand’s lush pastures.

“Central Food Retail’s latest promotion of products from New Zealand is especially exciting as it enables us to bring even more variety to our customers while ensuring the highest quality at reasonable prices. It also gives customers the chance to explore new tastes and new ideas for preparing food, which is in line with our policy to continually bring the best quality products from around the world into our stores,” said Mr. Ian Pye, President of Central Food Retail Co,. Ltd.

New Zealand’s Ambassador to Thailand, HE Brook Barrington, presided over the launch of New Tastes, New Zealand, New Thinking’ on 3 August 2006 at Central Food Hall, Central Chidlom and commented on the benefits of creating awareness of the high quality produce that New Zealand has to offer.

“New Zealand is well known the world over for its abundance of natural food products and the outstanding freshness of its meat, poultry, fruit and vegetables. This promotion by Central Food Retail will be a great opportunity for people to experience the benefits of natural and nutritious products that are exported under strict quality control measures set by the Trade and Enterprise economic development agency,” said Mr. Barrington.

“New Zealand offers a great deal of diversity in the range of locally made products for export and I’d like to thank Central Food Retail Group for making many of these products available and giving people the chance to appreciate the superior quality of fresh produce exported from New Zealand, where stringent standards are set by the New Zealand Food Safety Authority,” added the Ambassador.

Throughout August, SPOT Rewards card members will also receive exclusive discounts on imported food items from New Zealand and customers will receive a free kiwi bird stuffed toy worth 219 Baht for every 1000 Baht spent on New Zealand products.

Fantastic prizes worth over 500,000 Baht are up for grabs during the promotion for SPOT Rewards Card holders with every 400 baht spent on purchases that include New Zealand products entitling card members to take part in the free prize draw.

Included in these exclusive prizes are Best Western Hotel packages to tropical destinations like Best Western Premier Maya at Koh Lanta in Krabi, Best Western Plam Galleria Resort at Khao Lak in Phang-nga, or splendid leisure with Best Western Bella Villa Cabana Pattaya, plus luxury spa treatments from New Zealand’s Waiora Spa.

Tastes of New Zealand under theme of “New Tastes, New Zealand, New Thinking” promotion runs from 2 to 29 August at Central Food Hall, Tops Market, Tops Super, marketplace by Tops and selected Tops Supermarket.
