Central Food Retail Co Ltd. is organizing a
“Taste of Germany” fair to celebrate the world famous ‘Oktoberfest’. Customers will enjoy shopping and tasting German food products in an Oktoberfest atmosphere.
“The annual Oktoberfest festival has been held in the city of Munich in Bavaria, southern Germany, for more than 200 years,” Ian Pye,
President of Central Food Retail Co., Ltd. explained.
“With at least six million people attending every year, it’s one of the world’s most celebrated events and is the biggest German beer and food fair of them all. As a leading food retailer in Thailand, we, too, hold a German food fair every year to celebrate Oktoberfest. This year, we’ve brought it back again to give local consumers an opportunity to enjoy the food and experience the culture of Germany, while at the same time shopping for premium food products flown in specially from Germany.”
German specialties available at “Taste of Germany” include German sausages and salami and an exclusive selection of cheese such as Mit Grunem Pfeffer. Sweets include Jelly Gummy, Ritter Sport Chocolate (exclusive size, only available at the fair) and German bakery products such as pretzel and Roggenmischbrot rye bread. Plus Weihenstephan Korbinian represents the highlight of German beer from Germany’s oldest brewery, and fine wines are also available.
Customers are sure to enjoy the simulated Oktoberfest ambience and the many activities like the Bavarian dancers and the cooking demonstrations held every Saturday.
There is also a special promotion for customers shopping at the “Taste of Germany.” They will receive a free, heart-shaped gingerbread, a ‘Lebkuchen Heart’, a traditional memento from Oktoberfest, to take home as a souvenir.
