- Appearance Staff must look smart and be dressed correctly for the job they do. Experienced colleagues in the correct preparation and serving of food train them. Freshness Staff are trained to understand the different date codes and regularly check these to ensure that products are sold as fresh as possible.
- Cleanliness Hygiene and sanitation in stores must look their best at all times. Employees in food preparation departments are trained in cleaning methods with bio- degradable cleaning agent that keep food fresh, safe and care for environment.
- Temperature control Tops always checks and records temperature every 2 hours and controls suitable temperature for products because of the right temperature is the heart of perishable. So the food is as safe and fresh as possible. Cooked food must also be sold fresh at the right temperature and right regulation.
- Food segregation Raw meat, poultry, unwashed fruit and vegetables must be kept separate from ready-to-eat food. This is to prevent cross-contamination which may lead to food poisoning
